Bedford+Bowery blog:

“The fun, not-super commercial (anymore, anyway) lineup of films belies the fancy setting—a brand new theater with plush chairs decked out with leather head-rests and placed at ‘a 30-degree pitch for unimpeded sight lines’ and plenty of leg room.”

The Department of Buildings lists this space, November 5, 1965, as a "factory--manufacturing and warehouse of nuts."

Cezar Del Valle is the author of the Brooklyn Theatre Index, a three volume history of borough theatres. The first two volumes chosen "2010 Outstanding Book of the year' by the Theatre Historical Society. Final volume published in September 2014.
